Interventional pain procedures
Injections and procedures placed with fluoroscopy (live X-ray) or ultrasound guidance, depending on the procedure, by our pain physicians after an evaluation. Offered at all three offices: Brooklyn, Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan.
Non-surgical physician treatments
Focused high-energy shockwave for back pain, muscle pain, plantar fasciitis and knee pain, performed by a nurse practitioner and physician. Offered only at the Brooklyn office.

Pain procedures and physician visits are offered at all three offices. Our Brooklyn office on Shell Road serves Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay, Midwood, Coney Island, Brighton Beach and Bensonhurst. Our Staten Island office on Richmond Road serves Dongan Hills, New Dorp, Grant City, Todt Hill, Midland Beach, Great Kills and Eltingville. The Midtown Manhattan office on East 55th Street, the Precision Care Spine & Pain Center, serves patients from Spanish Harlem (East Harlem) and Washington Heights, as well as Midtown, Midtown East, Turtle Bay and UN Plaza, the Financial District, the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side and Harlem.
Physical therapy and hands-on therapy are offered in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Focused shockwave therapy and occupational and hand therapy are offered in Brooklyn only.

Which treatments does Precision Care Medical & Sports Performance offer?
Interventional pain procedures: fluoroscopy- and ultrasound-guided injections, including interlaminar and transforaminal epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks and lumbar or cervical radiofrequency ablation, genicular nerve blocks and genicular radiofrequency ablation, joint injections including hydrocortisone, carpal tunnel injections, trigger point injections, spinal cord stimulation trials, and Botox for chronic migraine. Non-surgical physician treatments: focused high-energy shockwave therapy. Diagnostics: musculoskeletal ultrasound and EMG with nerve conduction testing. Physical therapy and rehabilitation: physical therapy, pre- and post-surgical rehab (ACL, MCL, meniscus, knee and hip replacement), the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill, and lumbar and cervical traction (spinal decompression). Occupational and hand therapy, including upper extremity therapy and carpal tunnel therapy. Hands-on therapy: manual therapy, massage therapy and kinesiology taping.
Are pain procedures done at every office?
Yes. Our pain physicians perform procedures at the Brooklyn, Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan offices. The office confirms the date, the preparation and the image guidance used before anything is scheduled.
Are injections done with fluoroscopy?
Epidural steroid injections are placed with fluoroscopy (live X-ray). Medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation trials use X-ray guidance, and joint injections use ultrasound or X-ray guidance when needed. Your physician explains the guidance for your procedure.
Who performs focused shockwave therapy?
Focused high-energy shockwave is performed by a nurse practitioner and physician, at the Brooklyn office only. It is used for back pain, muscle pain, plantar fasciitis and knee pain when the evaluation supports it.
