Insurance and your claim
Depending on what happened, a truck crash may be a no-fault case or, if you were driving for work, a workers’ compensation case. Your insurer or employer can tell you which applies, and we treat both. See our no-fault page for the basics.
Trucks, delivery vans and buses
Whether you were driving, riding as a passenger or on foot, the first visit documents every area that hurts and sets a plan. If you were driving for work, the case may run through workers’ compensation, and the office works with either kind of claim. Hours until 8 pm Monday to Thursday make follow-up visits easier.
How the visit works
- Call or request an appointment online; the office calls back to confirm.
- For no-fault or workers’ comp cases we check the claim before you come in. Otherwise we check your health insurance.
- At the first visit the clinician asks what happened, examines you and orders imaging if needed.
- You agree on a plan together, and the office handles the medical paperwork with the insurer.
On Staten Island, Jake Stephen, DO, does the evaluation and orders imaging if it’s needed. The plan can include physical therapy, lumbar or cervical traction and, when conservative care isn’t enough, pain procedures done at this office, such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, or joint and trigger point injections.
